The Ideal Solution to Dental Anxiety
Our mission is to improve your total health through dentistry. That’s why we look at the whole person, not just the mouth, and so we are pleased to provide sedation dentistry to those who feel dental anxiety.
Use of state-of-the-art dental technology makes the process of administering dental sedation as comfortable as possible, allowing patients to enjoy the numerous benefits of sleep dentistry with minimal anxiety.
Types of Sedation
Oral SedationOral sedatives are prescribed by your dentist and administered in pill form. Simply take the pill approximately one hour before your dental appointment and have a responsible adult drive you to and from our office. By the time you arrive, you will likely feel drowsy. At the beginning of your appointment, we will administer a dental anesthetic, which will minimize or eliminate discomfort during your procedure. Oral sedatives usually wear off after several hours, so you can go home after your appointment and relax for the rest of the day. |
Intravenous SedationIntravenous sedatives are administered by injection at our office. Our team first numbs the injection site with a topical anesthetic, which eliminates or minimizes discomfort. The sedative takes effect quickly, achieving a deeper state of sedation than possible with oral sedatives. IV sedation patients sleep through their procedure and often have no memory of the appointment. Since the sedative effect typically lasts for several hours after administration, you should arrange to have a responsible adult drive you home from our office. |
