Restorative Dentistry Oakland and Berkeley

Restoring Function and Health to Your Smile

The term “restorative dentistry” refers to treatments or procedures intended to restore health and function to the teeth and mouth. Restorative dentistry services address teeth that are broken, decayed, otherwise damaged, or missing. By extension, it aids your total health through better digestion, prevention of diseases that can start in untreated areas and improved emotional wellbeing.

Many patients in the Northern California area trust the Total Health Dental Care team to rehabilitate teeth that are causing pain or compromising functionality. If you think you need restorative dentistry at our Oakland or Berkeley practice and would like to schedule a consultation to discuss one of the options below, please contact our dental office today.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are placed over cracked, severely worn, or broken teeth to provide support and strength. When properly cared for, dental crowns can last for many years and prevent future damage to weak or decaying teeth. We use the CEREC® dental restoration system at our office; this remarkable piece of technology allows our team to craft and place porcelain restorations in one visit.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are placed in gaps left by missing teeth. A bridge consists of an artificial tooth with crowns fused to either side. The artificial tooth fits neatly in the gap and the crowns slip over the surrounding teeth. Dental bridges are beneficial because they prevent complications caused by missing teeth, such as bite problems, periodontal disease, tooth shifting, and bone loss.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are powerful tooth replacements; they are made up of an artificial tooth root that is inserted into the jawbone, and a dental restoration, such as a crown, that is affixed atop the artificial root. The result is a fully functioning and natural looking prosthetic tooth that blends in beautifully with the rest of your smile. Long lasting and extremely durable, dental implants are both placed and restored by Dr. Sepand Hokmabadi.
